Lapis lazuli is a wonderful mineral that is necessary for enchanting items in the Minecraft game. When mined with a stone pickaxe or something better, lapis lazuli ore drops 4–9 minerals, but with the Fortune III special tool, a single block can drop up to 36 items. Interesting fact: a lapis ore can be placed under note blocks to create "bass drum" sounds. Also, in Java Edition, certain villagers can offer the player this gemstone if he has the Hero of the Village effect, which can be received after successfully defeating a raid.
