Hiro Hamada is the protagonist of Disney's 2014 animated film Big Hero 6 and its 2017 animated series. He is a 14-year-old robotics prodigy who is determined to use his skills to make the world a better place. Hiro is the younger brother of Tadashi Hamada, a brilliant robotics student who was killed in a fire at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. After Tadashi's death, Hiro becomes withdrawn and uninterested in his studies. However, he is inspired to become a superhero after meeting Baymax, a healthcare robot that Tadashi created.
