Bloodstone Crystal

The mineral heliotrope, also known as bloodstone, is a cryptocrystalline mixture of quartz that occurs mainly as jasper or sometimes as chalcedony. The classic stone from our Bloodstone Crystal cursor pack is opaque green jasper with red parts of hematite. The red inclusions may resemble spots of blood, thus the name bloodstone. This crystal was called the stone of Babylon by Albertus Magnus, and he referred to several magical properties attributed to it from Late Antiquity.
